Payment Plans 


Parking, Red-Light and Automated Speed Enforcement Ticket Payment Plans

The City of Chicago Department of finance offers payment plans to vehicle owners with Vehicle Debt from parking compliance, automated red light and speed enforcement tickets.

Entering into a payment plan will prevent your vehicle from being booted and your driver's license from being suspended. Payment plans may also be available to motorist who have already had their vehicle booted or driver's license suspended.

Hardship Payment Plan

Individuals that meet at least one of the following qualifications are Qualifying Hardship Participants and may be eligible for a Hardship Payment Plan:

-You are a student (high school, college, trade or vocational) with a valid school ID card
-You are a senior citizen (65 and older)
-You are on active military duty, including reservist and National Guard, or been discharged from the military in the last 180 days
-You have received a notice of foreclosure, entered into a consent foreclosure, gave a deed in lieu of foreclosure or hand a judgment of foreclosure entered against you, on your primary residence within the last 3 years
-You still owe for unpaid fines and penalties even after receiving a bankruptcy discharge order.
-You have claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EIC) on your state or federal income tax returns in the most recent tax year.
-You participate in any of the following programs:

…..Low income home energy assistance program (LIHEAP)
…..Federal Public Housing/Section 8
…..Food Stamps
…..Medicaid or Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
